Ping Pong Fight Club – #PPFCLDN

Ping Pong Fight Club – #PPFCLDN

London… you were amazing!!

Ping Pong Fight Club hit The Oval Space in London for what was the biggest, the loudest and by far the most riotous Ping Pong Fight Club to date. London-based companies, both big and small, gathered to do battle. They entered the arena to find out who had the skills to take all the bragging rights and the Ping Pong Fight Club title.

The battle ground was alive with slick tunes and an awesome atmosphere accompanied by some great ping pong skills. The games were competitive and heated, the Tsingtao was cold and refreshing… The night was electric!

As the competition went on the players fell by the wayside and it wasn’t long until we had our two finalists – Primed and ready to lock horns in the final showdown – and the battle didn’t disappoint. Crowds huddled tight around the table… points were scored, points were lost… However, there could only be one winner… Congratulations to Luis Pinto from Funding Circle our new Ping Pong Fight Club Champion London 2017.

Our gallant runner-up was Oliver Schmid from IWOCA (who also took the team championships) and our Chancers Champion was Umesh from Zopa!

Thank you to everyone who came down to support the night and to all those who entered… Yoti ZopaDeliveroo Firebrand Live Funding Circle innovision Laundrapp iwocaRAVN Systems Property Partner Stratajet and Tetrad Discovery. You guys made the night epic!

What next? Now we rock Manchester.

Ping Pong Fight Club returns on June 15th to find Manchester’s finest! If you and your company are up for it… If you think you have what it takes to be Manchester’s Champions… register your interest here.

See you in Manchester!

Tsingtao Street Food
6th September 2016
Tsingtao Street Food

Join us on Saturday 10th September and Saturday 8th October from midday to midnight, as we take over the trendy pop-up street food market, Urban Food Fest in Shoreditch, London.

We’re working alongside chef Jeremy Pang and his team from the award-winning Asian & Oriental cookery school in Covent Garden, School of Wok, cooking up a feast of mouth-watering Chinese street food to tempt your taste buds.

Jeremy is hugely talented and comes from three generations of Chinese chefs. He developed his passion for food and cooking at an early age whilst being surrounded by food connoisseurs.

The School of Wok started in London seven years ago as a mobile cookery school specialising in teaching Eastern cuisine to students in the comfort of their own homes, but with Jeremy’s skill and passion injected into the business, it wasn’t long before the School of Wok opened its first permanent professional kitchen in May 2012. The location is right near London’s Chinatown and surrounded by some of the finest restaurants in the capital.

Jeremy and his team are excited to be partnering with us: Jeremy said, “Urban Food Fest is an amazing culinary party and this time the team will be celebrating it with Tsingtao. We’re looking forward to dishing up some new Chinese BBQ bites along with some more traditional Chinese street food dishes”.

Pop down, say hello and join us for some of the best Chinese cooking in London… There’ll also be ping pong tables set up so you can challenge your friends and work up an appetite. Don’t worry though… There’s plenty of cold Tsingtao Beers on hand beer to wash down that delicious Chinese street food and to cool you down after your ping pong battle!

Tsingtao (pronounced Ching Dow) has been brewed using the same recipe for over 100 years. Brewed in Qingdao, China, every bottle is made with Laoshan Spring water so every sip you take… is a little taste of China. It’s a truly authentic Chinese beer and as we say…Gan Bei or Cheers!

You can find us on these two Saturdays at Urban Food Fest, Euro Car Parks, 162-167 Shoreditch High St, London E1 6HU.

What better way to creep into Autumn, then trying something new – so let your friends know, spread the word and enjoy the day with Tsingtao.

Tsingtao Beer Festival
13th August 2016
Tsingtao Beer Festival

It’s time for the 26th Qingdao International Beer Festival… Asia’s answer to the Oktoberfest.

The event, held every year, is a festival honouring the nectar gods and started as the celebration of Qingdao’s 100th Birthday back in 1991. It has now grown to be one of the largest beer festivals in the world. The proceedings open with a grand light show and concert activities. The event will take you from Huangdao Golden Beach, the Horticultural Expo Centre to, of course, Qingdao, also know as ‘Beer City’ & Century Square.

They’ll be plenty of entertainment and carnival events happening across the area so if you are there – you certainly won’t miss it.

Gan Bei (Cheers) and enjoy the party.

It’s time to get out the BBQ
6th June 2016
It’s time to get out the BBQ

It’s that time of year again… the sun is shining, we dust down the patio furniture, gather family and friends, apply some sunscreen and stoke up the BBQ. Well this summer why not try something a little different when you’re cooking? Yes there’s sausages, yes there’s burgers, yes there’s chicken drumsticks and corn on the cob too but we have a recipe that will ‘jazz’ up your BBQ ribs and impress your guests.

Working with our friend Jeremy Pang, from the School of Wok, we bring you a delicious Barbecued Tsingtao Beer ribs recipe to try! You can see the full recipe here, so why not follow along and enjoy these scrumptious BBQ ribs then relax in the sun and enjoy a cold Tsingtao with friends.

As we know beer and BBQs are a perfect combination, so to compliment our ribs recipe, check out the Tsingtao BBQ beer guide. We give you some tips on using beer on the BBQ, so whether it be a marinade, a few flavoured wood chips or simply an ideal drink pairing, all you need to know is in our beer guide.

Enjoy the summer!

Tsingtao Races into 2016 with Superbikes Contract
21st September 2015
Tsingtao Races into 2016 with Superbikes Contract

Tsingtao Beer has extended its title sponsorship of the Hampshire MV Agusta motorcycle racing team, which will see it compete in the MCE British Superbike Championship until the end of 2016.

The Team is honing a strong field of riders for next year thanks to the additional support of the Italian Varese-based factory, which will also see the bikes become even more competitive.

Team manager, Dave Tyson, says: “It’s great to have the support of a brand as strong as Tsingtao. Our agreement to go forward for another year in BSB gives our team a great sense of security. It’s been a tough season this year, with the switch of manufacturer in 2015 and Luke Jones missed out on most of this year due to injury, but he’s with us for another year, and will have a point to prove as the rules change for 2016.”

“Much time and effort has gone in to getting the package competitive in our championship. Keith Farmer has made the transition well from big bike to the F3 and we still have more to come. The last three rounds will show next year’s potential and we’re pleased to be continuing our relationship with Tsingtao.”

James Wright, Director of Spirits and Agency Brands at Halewood International, which distributes Tsingtao in the UK, added: “Sponsoring the Hampshire Motorcycles team has proved really beneficial for us for the last three years and we’re delighted to be continuing the relationship. It’s been a challenging season for the team and we’re supporting the riders and the manufacturer, MV Agusta, to ensure we’re the team to watch in 2016.”

Tsingtao ‘in the Frame’ at Wang Qingsong
8th September 2015
Tsingtao ‘in the Frame’ at Wang Qingsong

Tsingtao is proud to be sponsoring the launch of contemporary Beijing artist, Wang Qingsong’s first solo exhibition in London for almost ten years. The opening on September 22nd at Mayfair’s Beetles+Huxley gallery, marks the start of a five week run.

Born at the start of the Cultural Revolution, Qingsong’s provocative, and often humorous works comment on the overwhelming social and visual changes which have taken place in his native country over the last four and a half decades.
Predominantly photography and film-based, his fascinating pieces are known for their massive scale, deep symbolism and careful staging, which can sometimes take several weeks and involve up to 300 extras.

Many of the artist’s large-format photographs, which have been shown in galleries and museums across the globe, including the International Centre of Photography (NY) and the V&A (London), also attract significant attention at auction. Qingsong also represented China in the Venice Biennale 2013.

Tsingtao will be celebrating Wang Qingsong’s London exhibition launch with its authentic imported pilsner and the rarer, more exclusive 1903, which is only available in select venues across the UK.

The launch event takes place on 22nd September, 6-8pm.

Isle of Man TT
20th May 2013
Isle of Man TT

The Tsingtao Racing team leave for the Isle of Man. With the world focused on the tiny island for two weeks our team pit their nerves against the gruelling road race and jostle for position with the other teams.

The Tsingtao team will endure multiple test laps (each lap is over 37 miles across public roads), performance tweaks, mechanical changes and long hours to ensure Dave Johnson and the Tsingtao TT bike are all set for the their category race. With speeds well over 100mph along the road course, the team will need all the skill, bravery and concentration they can muster to gain a podium spot.

This event truly attracts the crowds in their thousands. Where else will you see motorbikes hurtle round at breathe-taking speeds whilst battling with pot-holes, jumps, stone-clad walls, telegraph poles and vast crowds just inches away from the kerbside?

Watch the Tsingtao Racing team make history.
